Why volunteer with us?
-
Sense of Purpose
When volunteering with us you can find comfort in the fact that you are contributing to those who need it the most. Taking on your life lessons and inspiring young boys through story-telling is both powerful to them and yourself. Most of our volunteers walk away feeling like they’ve done good, and helped make the world a slightly better place.
-
Sense of Community
A side effect that comes with helping others and being of service is meeting other like-minded individuals. The MAN UP Volunteer community is growing everyday. It is incredible to have a network of young men on the same mission be able to come together and share in their own challenges with no judgement. It truly is a safe space for us all.
-
Sense of Growth
Not only will you be pushed out of your comfort zone having to speak in front of dozens of young boys, MAN UP also provides the opportunity to get more deeply involved, with committee positions opening up yearly, and exciting new chances to meet people from across WA who are working towards positive change in our community.
Opportunities
-
Professional Education
MAN UP volunteers are provided opportunities to be up-skilled and educated in current social affairs by professionals in the area. Opportunities include, but are not limited to, Family Domestic Violence, LGBTQIA+ Literacy, Mental Health First Aid and more. These enable our community to learn and develop their own repertoire of skills, which in turn has a greater impact on the young men of WA.
-
Rural Trips
Rural trip’s are a cornerstone to MAN UP’s sense of community. Volunteering for MAN UP provides the opportunity of being invited to trips across the country, allowing you to leave an impact on remote communities from all corners of WA, whilst having a great time developing new relationships.
