Redefining Masculinity.

Young boys embracing healthy masculinity.

MAN UP is a not-for-profit, peer-to-peer education service in WA, with the goal of empowering young men and redefining masculinity. We run workshops on various topics centered around men’s mental health and well-being, with an emphasis on transforming boys into confident, purpose-driven, and emotionally capable men.

Our aim is to change the phrase ‘MAN UP’ to mean something positive; to live authentically from one’s heart, embrace vulnerability, and hold one another accountable to stand up for what is right.

Programs made for boys.

We offer three evidence- and experience-based workshops to share topics that are not typically discussed in a school environment

Our workshops cover a range of topics including: mental health, male culture, understanding relationships and encouraging positive conversations amongst one another.

By running intimate, peer-to-peer workshops we allow our volunteers to share their experiences in an effort to give boys a realistic understanding of what it means to grow up as a man in WA.

Our impact.

Since our inception, MAN UP programs have had a proven impact on male student beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours towards men’s health. Having had conversations with over 4500 young men across WA we have shown that our workshops are important, necessary and impactful.

Our team.

MAN UP is driven by a passionate team of young men and women in Perth, all of whom have had their fair share of experiences around toxic masculinity and/or poor mental health. Working together, we hope to transform the way young boys in high school learn, incorporating story-telling and mentorship to create a casual and open space.

We want to educate young boys so that they do not make the same mistakes that young men may face navigating through adolescence and adulthood.
